Tanya Houghton

Tanya Houghton is an
award-winning photographer and film maker, driven by wild remote landscapes and all things connected to the Great Outdoors

  • I specialise in all out things outdoor, with a strong focus on desert landscapes. My work has taken me around the world, hiking and camping in some crazy places to shoot. Working with skeleton crews in the jungles of Panama, solo shooting in the canyons of the Grand Canyon, to large productions capturing Trail runners in the UK. If the brief is outdoors I’ll always find a way to make it work for you.

  • I’m a director who thrives in complex, on the ground environments, where adaptability and creative problem solving shape the work. From Indigenous communities in Chile to winemakers in the Pyrenees, I collaborate closely with people and place. With a background in sociology and interviewing capabilities, I bring a thoughtful, sensitive approach to storytelling, to create sensitive, human-led films across docs, shorts, and branded work

  • As an earth and landscape storyteller, I love finding the best output for your brief, remaining involved in the creative process from start to finish. From curation and exhibition design to community events, supper clubs, printed material, and workshops, I craft the perfect brand activation to deliver your message
